Hydrofuel Canada enters manufacturing and sales agreement for engine conversion kits to hydrogen and ammonia

Hydrofuel Canada has entered into an exclusive manufacturing and sales agreement with Technocarb Equipment for its hydrogen and ammonia compatible gas and diesel engine conversion kits.

Under the agreement, Technocarb will be able to manufacture and sell the hydrogen and ammonia kits for the conversion of hydrocarbon-fuelled generators, engines, tractors, grain driers, and more.

Based on Hydrofuel’s MAPS (Micro Ammonia Production System) technology, the kits will allow for the conversion of existing fossil fuelled engines, which could reduce the capital investment costs of converting operations to low emissions.

In April last year (2022), Hydrofuel said the MAPS technology could unlock green hydrogen and ammonia that is “cheaper than fossil fuels”, by allowing for high-yield, sustainable ammonia synthesis from air and water with high efficiency using a gas-phase electrochemical process.
