Hydrogen drone flight completed in Scandinavia

Nordic Unmanned AS has completed a successful test flight of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered Staaker BG-200 drone.

The Norway-based company on Monday (14th Dec) shared the flight news, stating that the drone was equipped with a 2kW customised fuel cell system from HES and a 7.2L pressure vessel with hydrogen at 300bar.

As an end goal, the company hopes to have the fuel cell system as a “high endurance module” that can be installed on any fuel cell ready Staaker BG-200.

“This is a significant milestone for the project,” said Jørgen Apeland, R&D Engineer working on the project.
