Glasgow City Council’s fleet of gritters will be running on hydrogen fuel next winter in an effort to reduce the city’s carbon emissions.
UK-based hydrogen fuel specialist ULEMCo today announced the order for the largest single deployment of hydrogen dual fuel vehicles it has seen yet, due for delivery in the coming months.
Made possible through funding from Transport Scotland, the order will see twenty gritter/multi-purpose vehicles running on hydrogen.
Around half of the fleet of 20 vehicles will be converted to hydrogen dual fuel, whilst the remaining ten will be hydrogen enabled from the get-go.
