Hydrogen-powered fishing vessel to use Genevos fuel cells

Genevos has agreed to provide two of its HPM 40kW hydrogen fuel cell power systems to support the decarbonisation of small-scale fishing vessels.

Now part of the H2-SEAS Consortium, which is funded under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme HORIZON, Genevos will supply “marine-certified” fuel cells in addition to gas storage systems, integration design and installation.

The consortium will be implemented by the design, construction and operational demonstration of a hydrogen-electric 12m fishing vessel propelled by a 100kW engine. Through the European Marine Observation and Data network (EMODnet), the consortium will make results available from an environmental impact assessment.
