Hydrogen to power automated vehicles in BMW’s Leipzig factory

BMW Group is set to power Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) in its Leipzig, Germany, factory with hydrogen fuel cells.

Revealed today (May 30), BMW, Intelligent Energy and FES GmbH Fahrzeug-Entwicklung Sachsen (FES), have been developing a hydrogen solution for the DS Automation built AGV in operation at the Leipzig factory.

The announcement comes after BMW Group committed to significantly reducing its carbon footprint by 2030 in October last year (2021).
