With the global roll-out of hydrogen refuelling stations gathering pace, the demand for Type I seamless steel cylinders at the stations’ core is growing rapidly.

Here, Chesterfield Special Cylinders’ (CSC) Sales Director Lee Lawrence gives an overview of the challenges facing the hydrogen sector as it aims for standardisation to deliver value.

Cylinders are at the heart of the delivery of hydrogen as a vehicle fuel, accounting for around 40% of the overall cost of a hydrogen refuelling station, and Chesterfield Special cylinders has been invited by several leading specialist companies to help them develop the optimum refuelling station for roll-out around the world.
