IMI Critical Engineering completes first field test of new electrolyser

IMI Critical Engineering has said it has completed its first field test of its IMI VIVO PEM electrolyser for green hydrogen production.

Undertaken at its recently opened facility in Sardinia, Italy, the 200kW electrolyser successfully completed its test programme last month (May 2023), generating 4kg of hydrogen per hour at 30 barg.

Planned to be made available in sizes ranging between 100kW and 5MW, IMI says the electrolyser can be made “fully bespoke” for end user requirements due to a turnkey configuration that includes a high or low-pressure storage tank, compressor and optional fuelling equipment.
