Hyundai Motor Company has ordered an INLINECOATER™ system for the coating of metal bipolar plates for fuel cells from Impact Coatings.
The order announced today is a result of the joint venture agreement that was signed last year.
Under the joint venture agreement, the two companies said they would develop a new generation of materials, processes and equipment for a variety of applications, including fuel cells and hydrogen production.
Later last year in December, the two companies also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop fuel cell coatings and hydrogen energy technology.
“I believe that the collaboration between our two companies will help vitalise technological exchange between Korea and Sweden,” Soon Chan Park, Vice-President of Hyundai Motor Fuel Cell Business Group, said at the time.
Shipment of the INLINECOATER™ system is planned for the fourth quarter of this year, with finally delivery at the beginning of 2021.
