Innoplate to begin mass production of bipolar plates for fuel cells

Schaeffler and Symbio have inaugurated their new fuel cell bipolar plate production site in France, via the joint venture (JV) Innoplate.

The Haguenau site is expected to have an initial production capacity of 4 million bipolar plates before reaching 50 million units per year by 2030.

Established 18 months ago, Innoplate aims to mass-produce bipolar plates in parallel with the ramp-up of PEM fuel cells within the hydrogen mobility market.
