Io Consulting to carry out hydrogen study for Trinidad plant

London-based Baker Hughes and McDermott joint venture Io Consulting will carry out a feasibility study for NewGen Energy’s proposed green hydrogen production facility in Trinidad and Tobago.

The project will focus on the production of hydrogen from an industrial electrolysis process powered by carbon-neutral electricity and green electricity from renewable sources.

The hydrogen output from the project is intended as a green input to ammonia production at the Trinidad Nitrogen Company’s facilities in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate.

“There are significant and positive implications for this project,” said Philip Julien, NewGen’s Managing Director.
