ISO methodology for hydrogen GHG emissions launched at COP28

ISO methodology for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions assessment of hydrogen has been agreed today (December 5) at the COP28 Presidency’s High-Level Roundtable on Hydrogen.

The High-Level roundtable came as the inaugural roundtable for the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF). Joined by over 20 ministerial officials from nations including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Oman, the UK and the US, a delegation of Hydrogen Council CEOs also represented global industries.

The ISO standard (TS 19870) specifies methodologies to determine the carbon footprint of a hydrogen product, in line with ISO 14067.
