ITM Power technology to produce green hydrogen at H2Pioneer plant in Austria

ITM Power is set to provide the H2Pioneer semiconductor plant in Austria with a new 2MW electrolyser which will produce green hydrogen.

In an announcement today (19th April), ITM Power said its HGas3SP electrolyser system will produce the zero emission fuel that will be further purified by Linde, making the hydrogen ultra-pure for semiconductor manufacturing.

The use of electrolysis simplifies downstream hydrogen purification and minimises delivery logistics while helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the hydrogen supply chain.

The H2Pioneer project’s main goal is to establish onsite production of hydrogen to meet the expected increasing demand of the semiconductor industry decarbonising this sector with a new H2Pioneer plant established to support IFAT.
