John Cockerill ‘breaks ground’ on US electrolyser gigafactory

John Cockerill has started work on its new US electrolyser gigafactory in Texas as it pursues its North American expansion.

The Belgian company was joined by its home nation’s Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo, for the ground-breaking ceremony on December 9 (2023).

Expected to produce 1GW of electrolysers per year, the facility in Baytown is hoped to bolster its hydrogen business in the US, while capitalising on the region’s incentives and policies.
