Lhyfe CIP and Flexens form integrated project partnership

Lhyfe, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Flexens have formed a partnership to develop an integrated energy island comprising large-scale offshore wind, green hydrogen production, and other activities on Åland in the Finnish archipelago.

The ambition is to develop large scale hydrogen production and integrate with gigawatt scale offshore wind in Åland’s waters for use locally and in Europe, supporting energy security and decarbonisation.

Integrating offshore wind and green hydrogen production will provide Åland with a route to market for untapped wind resources and establish it as a key player in the green transition for the wider region.

The exact configuration of the project will be developed in close coordination with local government and other local stakeholders.
