Liege Airport set to support green hydrogen transition with HaYport project

The HaYport project, a collaboration aiming to equip Liege airport with installations for the production, distribution and use of green hydrogen, has been given the greenlight by the Walloon Government.

The collaboration between Liege Airport, CMI Industry and John Cockerill includes making use of hydrogen produced to power the airports fleet of vehicles and of local interested institutions and companies, which use a captive fleet or a system of shuttles.

This will help to achieve complete, 100% clean eco-mobility at the airport site.

The first phase of the project, a technical feasibility study and possible outcomes, had been completed at the end of 2018 and since plans and propositions have been made to accelerate development.
