Locogen and Logan Energy help distilleries go green

Locogen and Logan Energy will help whisky distilleries in Benbecula and Inverkeilor, Scotland, move away from traditional distilling processes that rely on burning fuel oil or natural gas, to a more environmentally friendly alternative that embraces green hydrogen.

The companies today (25th Jan) announced their collaboration plans as a result of a £10m funding package from the UK Government to help distilleries ‘go green’, through which 11 of Scotland’s 17 distilleries will benefit.

Benbecula Distillery, run by The Uist Distilling Company, is one of two Scottish distilleries which will receive further industry expertise from renewable energy specialist Locogen and hydrogen technology expert Logan Energy as part of today’s commitment.
