Luxfer secures Alberta grant to develop hydrogen storage solution

Luxfer Gas Cylinders has received a clean technology grant to support the development of a new Type 4, 700 bar hydrogen cylinder in Canada.

Via the Alberta Innovates Hydrogen Centre of Excellence grant, Luxfer will construct a polymer-lined high pressure hydrogen cylinder, capable of playing a “crucial role” in the lightweight and high-volume hydrogen storage solution markets, such as fuel cell buses.

“This investment helps Luxfer demonstrate its commitment to innovative methods for hydrogen storage as well as to promote environmental sustainability,” explained Howard Mead, Vice-President and General Manager of Luxfer Composite.
