Maine and Rhode Island join New York-led hydrogen hub consortium

New York State Governor, Kathy Hochul on Thursday (August 25) announced Maine and Rhode Island had joined the New York-led multi-state agreement to develop a proposal to become one of the prospected US regional clean hydrogen hubs.

The US states join Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey in an effort to receive part of the $8bn of funding from the US Department of Energy (DOE) programme to develop regional clean hydrogen hubs across the nation, from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
