Swedish-based Metacon will explore the conditions and financing possibilities of building a factory in Sweden or another country within the EU, planning for a production volume of up to 500MW per year, corresponding to 50-100 complete electrolysis plants based on 5MW and 10MW electrolysis modules.

The Chinese company, PERIC, has developed a 5MW alkaline electrolysis module with more than 10 years of operating data to rely on and a 10MW electrolysis module which weighs just over 70 tonnes. Through the agreement, Metacon will be able to build its own electrolysis plants under its own name and brand utilising certain components from PERIC, including the stacks.
