MHI and Orica sign MoU to explore hydrogen and ammonia initiatives

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Orica have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore hydrogen and ammonia projects.

The two companies will collaborate on decarbonisation initiatives, utilising MHI’s reputation for manufacturing and innovation and Orica’s existing presence in the global hydrogen and ammonia markets.

Under the MoU, the collaboration will consider deployment opportunities for renewable hydrogen and ammonia production near Orica’s facilities in Newcastle and Gladstone, Australia. They aim to create demand opportunities for the fuels in power generation, maritime, industrial and agricultural industries.
