Mitsui O.S.K. Lines collaborates on pure water hydrogen production project

Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL) has announced its initiative to develop a pure water production system for hydrogen generation has been selected for the Shiga Prefecture Subsidy Programme.

The project, jointly proposed by Kyushu University Professor Takeshi Shinoda and Taiyo Sangyo company, will promote social implementation of future technologies.

MOL is promoting the Wind Hunter Project which uses offshore wind energy to produce hydrogen from water onboard and convert it into propulsion to decarbonise vessels and accelerate a hydrogen-based maritime sector.
