Nel electrolyser to produce up to 500kg of hydrogen daily for the PosHYdon project

Nel ASA has today (July 23) said it will provide a MW-scale PEM electrolyser to the PosHYdon project, which aims to validate the integration of offshore hydrogen, wind and natural gas, offshore the Netherlands

A landmark project, PosHYdon will investigate the three energy systems and see the installation of the hydrogen production plant on the Nepture Energy-operated Q13a-A latform.

The Q13a-A is the first fully electrified platform in the Dutch North Sea and will convert seawater into demineralised water, then into green hydrogen via electrolysis.

Nel has said its 1.25 MW electrolyser will produce a maximum of 500kg of green hydrogen per day.
