Nel’s Cavendish Hydrogen bags contract for South Tyrol refuelling station

Nel’s newly launched refuelling business Cavendish Hydrogen has logged its first hydrogen refuelling equipment purchase order for a station that could power Winter Olympic transport.

The purchase order from Alperia Greenpower SRL will see equipment supplied for a heavy- and light-duty refuelling station in South Tyrol, Italy, to primarily support the 2026 Winter Olympics by refuelling vehicles shuttling between sports facilities.

Valued at around €3.8m ($4.1m), the order includes a two-year service and maintenance contract, with the station expected to become operational in the second half of 2025.
