NewHydrogen launches green hydrogen generator prototype ahead of catalyst testing

Californian green hydrogen technology company NewHydrogen has launched its green hydrogen generator prototype incorporating novel low-cost catalyst technology.

Set to act as a platform for the company to incorporate additional electrolyser components, NewHydrogen is undertaking acidic water splitting tests, using commercial platinum and iridium-based catalysts to establish the benchmark performance of current commercial catalysts.

The prototype systems follows on from the company revealing a ‘breakthrough single-atom’ catalyst, which it said showed better performance than platinum in its lab studies, saying it could be vital for unlocking cost-competitive green hydrogen generation.
