Northeast Hydrogen Hub submits $3.62bn joint proposal to US DOE

Seven northeast US States have submitted a $3.62bn (£3.19bn) joint proposal to the Department of Energy (DOE) to advance hydrogen projects in the region.

The States of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will compete for a $1.25bn (£997,559) share of the $8bn (£6.3bn) made available by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

The States formed the NE Hub partnership last year and the proposal represents a $3.6bn investment for a dozen projects that advance clean hydrogen production, consumption and infrastructure developments for hard-to-decarbonise sectors such as transportation.
