Opedal confirmed as HydrogenPro’s third Chair in the space of a year

HydrogenPro ASA has appointed Dag Opedal as its new Chair of the Board after Terje Mikalsens stepped down earlier this month.

Opedal was appointed as the new Chair following Mikalsens resignation and has now been elected after the HydrogenPro Annual General Meeting and Extraordinary General Meeting agreed on the nomination committee’s proposal.

Mikalsens was only in the role for five months after he replaced Ellen Hanetho in October (2023), following her three-year tenure.

Commenting on his appointment, Opedal said, “The company has significant potential both technologically and, in the marketplace, with a solid management and a newly elected board that I look forward to collaborating with.

“The company is in a good position to develop a central role in the green shift and to create values for all stakeholders, including clients, employees, shareholders and the society in general.”

Opedal will bring experience from previous roles as CEO of Orkla ASA, and at companies including Norgesgruppen, Threschow-Fritzøe and Ferd. He has had board positions at Telenor, Jotun, Carlsberg and REC and currently serves as Vice Chair in Elkem ASA and Chair in O.Kavli og Knut Kavli Trust.

Joining him on the board will be Asta Stenshagen, Jarle Tautra, Geir Bredo Larsen, Marianne Mithassel Aamodt, Vivian Y Chen Espeseth and Bjørn Hansen.
