Oracle Power appoints thyssenkrupp Uhde for green hydrogen and ammonia plant study in Pakistan

Oracle Power has appointed thyssenkrupp Uhde to undertake a technical and commercial feasibility study for a green hydrogen and ammonia project in Pakistan.

The study will determine the production and electrolyser power requirements of the plant along with cost estimates, technology and carbon intensity information.

Oracle CEO Naheed Memon said, “I believe their agreement to support us is a testament to the opportunity we have for establishing a facility in Pakistan to produce what is becoming the new global fuel, as the world transitions to green energy.”

The project – which is targeting 400MW capacity and annual production of 55,000 tonnes of green hydrogen – would export to the neighbouring economies of China, South East Asia, MENA and Europe, and aims to generate hydrogen below $2 per kilogram. It is expected to deploy 700MW solar and 500MW wind power to produce green hydrogen.
