Plans for nickel-hydrogen battery gigafactory unveiled

EnerVenue has raised $100m in funding to build a gigafactory in the US for its nickel-hydrogen batteries.

The Californian company told H2 View nickel-hydrogen batteries work similarly to a fuel cell – hydrogen is generated as the battery charges and is reabsorbed into water as the battery discharges.

The technology has been used in the space industry for decades including to power the International Space Station and Hubble Space Telescope.
