Plans unveiled for hydrogen-powered data centre

A full production data centre operated with green hydrogen could become a reality in 2030.

Atos and HDF today (25th Feb) confirmed a new partnership that is looking to make that happen through the development of a complete end-to-end long-term solution to supply data centers with green hydrogen generated by renewable energy.

Atos will provide the solution by designing and providing the hardware, software and integration services that make it possible to exploit the electricity produced by green hydrogen so that it can be used in data centers.

HDF Energy will supply a power plant, which will provide predictable and firm electricity thanks to its high-powered fuel cells. The cells will be powered by green hydrogen derived from photovoltaic or wind farms.
