Ricardo has today (August 17) unveiled its plans to create a retrofit hydrogen fuel cell bus demonstrator for the UK’s first hydrogen transport hub in the north-east of England.
The global engineering consultancy has already kickstarted its mission by submitting a bid with UK public transport operator Stagecoach to demonstrate the retrofit hydrogen fuel cell bus.
An effort that will set the stage for hydrogen transportation, the move is being supported by the UK Government’s Department of Transport which has allocated funding to build a one-off vehicle.
