Plug Power names Germany as its European headquarters

North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany is to be Plug Power’s European headquarters, the US hydrogen specialist announced today (Sep 14), as it takes steps to reach its target of producing more than 500 tons of green hydrogen per day by 2025.

The initial 70,000 square foot facility will house an innovation centre with engineering labs and technical support, a monitoring, diagnostics and technical support centre, a green hydrogen generator with an electrolyser infrastructure on site, a shipping, inventor and logistics centre, and a training space.

The facility is expected to open at the start of 2022 with around 30 employees which will increase to 60 by the middle of 2022.
