Keeping up with ZeroAvia’s development isn’t the easiest task, with technical and collaborative news released on a near-weekly basis, often across international markets.

The maiden flight of its 19-seat Dornier 228 testbed aircraft in the UK in January already seems a while ago – in the two months since, it has advanced plans with Rotterdam, The Hague Airport for hydrogen-electric flights by 2025, struck an agreement with Birmingham Airport for zero-emission flights, and undertaken high temperature fuel cell testing.

So it’s useful to have 45 minutes with James McMicking, ZeroAvia’s Chief Strategy Officer – who has been on board for 16 months – explaining its broader direction of travel.
