Renewable Innovations looks to deploy hydrogen-powered off-grid systems in New Zealand

Renewable Innovations (RI) has revealed it is working with partners in New Zealand for the development of hydrogen fuel cell-powered emergency power supply systems capable of up to 80kW.

In collaboration with consultancy firm AECOM, RI has said it is currently working with a number of remote site operators across New Zealand to install the company’s EmPower™ fuel cell system to provide reliable hydrogen energy.

Set to be produced in New Zealand, each power system is expected to able to operate for up to seven days with hydrogen cylinder packs easily transported or delivered to remote operation sites to maintain power.
