RWE receives €108m investment for FUREC project

RWE has received a €108m investment from the EU Innovation Fund for its FUREC project.

FUREC consists of two plants being built in Limburg, The Netherlands, that will convert non-recyclable municipal solid waste (MSW) into circular and green hydrogen.

The plants are expected to produce 54,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year, saving around 3.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) in ten years’ time.
