Senator Manchin commits billions to push forward a clean future with hydrogen

$8bn to accelerate the development of hydrogen production hubs and $1bn for research and development programmes to bring down the costs of electrolysers to allow for cost competitive hydrogen.

That’s what Senator Joe Manchin has put forward in his Energy Infrastructure Act, which passed the Senate earlier this month as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that will look to upgrade the US power infrastructure.

“Hydrogen is a versatile fuel that is a prime example of what can be achieved through innovation,” Senator Machin said at the US Department of Energy’s Hydrogen Shot Summit yesterday (August 31).
