SGN appoints Altrad Babcock as contractor for H100 green hydrogen project

Altrad Babcock will build the hydrogen production and storage site for SGN’s H100 project that hopes to supply green hydrogen to hundreds of homes in Levenmouth, Fife.

British gas distribution company SGN has appointed Altrad Babcock as the main works contractor for the project that is said to be the ‘world’s first’ 100% green hydrogen-to-homes zero carbon network.

A 7MW wind turbine, owned and operated by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult in Fife Energy Park, will supply renewable electricity for  the hydrogen production and storage site.
