Shell appoints automation contractor for ‘Europe’s largest’ renewable hydrogen plant

In the development of “Europe’s largest” renewable hydrogen plant, Shell has appointed Yokogawa Electric Corporation as the main automation contractor (MAC).

As MAC, Yokogawa will optimise operations at the Holland Hydrogen I plant, by closely integrating its systems and equipment.

Set to be built in the Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands, the plant is expected to boast a 200MW electrolyser, powered by offshore wind, which could produce up to 60,000 kilogrammes of green hydrogen per day.
