Shipbuilder taps CMB.TECH’s hydrogen dual-fuel tech for four tug boats

CMB.TECH has inked an agreement to see four tugboats built using its dual-fuel hydrogen technology.

Signed with Dutch shipbuilder Damen, the agreement came after Lloyd’s Register awarded the pair with an Approval in Principe (AiP) for the hydrogen solution that will power the tugs.

The dual-fuel hydrogen ASB Tugs 2812 FF-H2 will feature high-speed engines to provide 80-tonnes of bollard pull, while also meeting International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier II and EU Stage V standards.
