Siemens Energy to provide 70MW PEM electrolyser to Liquid Wind

Siemens Energy is set to support Liquid Wind through a new partnership that will see a 70MW Siemens PEM electrolyser implemented into Liquid Wind’s facilities.

This is expected to help enable a significant reduction in carbon emissions from the shipping industry by helping the power-to-fuel developer to produce eFuel.

The eFuel will be created through use of the electrolyser: using renewable electricity to split water into green hydrogen and oxygen which will then be combined with biogenic CO2 to form carbon neural liquid fuel.

The carbon neutral fuel will be used by the shipping industry to replace fossil fuels, preventing the emission of 100,00 tonnes of CO2 every year.
