SK Ecoplant, Bloom Energy open SOEC plant for hydrogen production in South Korea

Bloom Energy and SK Ecoplant have partnered in order to successfully demonstrate clean hydrogen production using a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) for the first time in Korea, the companies revealed today (Feb 17).

The venture developed a 130kW SOEC facility in Gumi, Gyeongsanbuk-do and also started fuel-scale test production of it.

The new facility will enable the creation of clean hydrogen and also support the growing hydrogen community in Korea with a new influx of hydrogen entering the energy market.
