Solaris’ hydrogen-powered buses set to enter operation in Barcelona

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has ordered 38 hydrogen-powered buses from Solaris to deploy in the city.

The Polish bus manufacturer will deliver 36 Urbino 12 vehicles and two units of the Urbino 18-metre articulated hydrogen buses, scheduled for 2024. TMB will add these units to its already owned fleet of 130 Solaris vehicles.

The Urbino 12 hydrogen buses will boast 70kW fuel cells, whilst the additional two units will have 100kW of output power. They will also feature a small Solaris High Power traction battery fulfilling an auxiliary function.
