South Holland signs hydrogen agreement with Everfuel

The province of South Holland has entered into a contractual agreement with Everfuel for the supply of hydrogen which will will be used by public transport operator Connexxion to power its fuel cell bus fleet.

As part of the twelve year agreement, green hydrogen fuel specialist Everfuel will construct a new hydrogen refuelling station at the Connexxion bus depot in Heinenoord.

Due to be operational next year, the new station will support Connexxion’s hydrogen bus fleet which has been running since June and its additional vehicles which will soon be operational as part of the EU-funded JIVE2 project.

Everfuel will be supplying the station with green hydrogen, produced at sites in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany. The hydrogen will during start-up be delivered by trucks running on fossil-free HVO biodiesel, and later by zero-emission trucks.
