South Korean company to develop hydrogen production project in Australia

Korea Zinc Company has announced it will begin commercial production of green hydrogen in Australia next year (2024), according to local news.

Pulse News Korea reported that the company is initially targeting the production of around 140 tonnes per year of green hydrogen, accompanying a 124MW solar power plant on the production site.

Korea Zinc’s subsidiary, Ark Energy Corp, will begin the commercial operations of the green hydrogen plant in Townsville, Queensland, Australia in the first half of 2024, before verifying the performance and safety through trial operations in the latter stages of the year.
