Stadtwerke Kiel and INNIO sign MoU to convert power plant to hydrogen

Stadtwerke Kiel and INNIO have announced plans to convert a coastal power plant in Kiel, Germany, to operate fully on green hydrogen by 2035.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project to set global standards for climate neutral energy supply by 2035.

 The coastal power plant is billed as the ‘world’s first’ 190MW large-scale engine-based combined heat and power plant.
