Strategic Resources to explore Levidian technology potential and decarbonise iron production

Strategic Resources will potentially explore Levidian’s LOOP technology in order to decarbonise its metallurgical facility as part of its BlackRock Project.

Located in Saguenay, Québec, in Canada, the facility would utilise the hydrogen production technology to significantly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. The company has plans to install a four million tonne iron ore pellet operation as part of the project’s first phase.

The emissions-free iron ore products will be used in electric arc furnaces and steel plants. Additional modules of the LOOP technology could be deployed in subsequent project phases.
