Sydney’s bus fleet to be transitioned to zero emissions

Sydney’s bus fleet is set to be transitioned to zero emissions as Transport for New South Wales (NSW) reveals it is exploring multiple trials of battery electric and hydrogen technology.

The government agency is calling for expressions of interest from leaders in the energy, transport, manufacturing and financing sectors to participate in the trails, which will be undertaken in partnership with transport operators in the Sydney and Outer metropolitan areas.

The trials will allow the cost-effective testing of these emerging technologies and their supporting infrastructure and services that help support a net zero outcome.

A zero emission bus fleet will support NSW Government’s goal to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
