Thank you for taking five with H2 View today. For some of our readers who may not be familiar with Bloom Energy, could you tell us a little about the company, its origins and activities?

KR Sridhar founded Bloom Energy in 2001 to transform the way businesses and communities take charge of their energy needs. He wants to provide access to resilient, predictable, affordable, and sustainable power solutions. By leveraging its purpose-built solid oxide platform, Bloom Energy advances hydrogen production and utilisation for the global economy alongside our partners.

Our platform’s distributed, always-on, non-combustion, fuel-agnostic process of generating clean electricity, allows us to reduce emissions and promote sustainable, resilient communities. Since 2008, our commercial fuel cell deployments have prevented 2,268,000kg of SO2 (sulfur dioxide) and 4,9000,000kg of NOx from becoming airborne pollutants. Additionally, the Bloom Electrolyser is up to 30% more efficient than low-temperature electrolysers, which is critical since electricity is the main driver in the overall cost of electrolytic hydrogen.
