TECO 2030 to support the retrofit of marine vessel

TECO 2030, BLOM Maritime and Samskip have agreed to retrofit an LNG-fuelled vessel to run on fuel cells and hydrogen fuel.

TECO 2030 will provide its fuel cell solutions to Samskip’s vessel Kvitnos, which currently operates on a weekly multipurpose service from Rotterdam, Netherlands, and along the Norwegian coastline.

BLOM will support naval architects, piping engineers and structural engineers to produce the required documentation for approval. Samskip, boasting an annual turnover of €900m, already has one hydrogen-powered container vessel under construction in the SeaShuttle project as they aim to become Net Zero by 2040.
