TECO 2030’s fuel cell power generator system granted AiP by DNV

TECO 2030 has received an Approval in Principle (AiP) for its hydrogen fuel cell power generator system.

Awarded by the Norwegian classification society DNV, the containerised fuel cell power generator (FCPG) can now be utilised for onboard maritime applications and “seamlessly integrate with a ship’s main switchboard.”

H2 View understands that easy integration and operational efficiency were key components of the AiP, encompassing the fuel preparation system, fuel cell module holding room, electro-technical room, battery room and airlock. These all ensure the reliability, safety and performance of the FCPG system.

The AiP has proved that the system is “safe to utilise onboard a vessel for propulsion and auxiliary power,” according to TECH 2030’s Group CEO, Tore Enger.
