Thailand to use MHI tech for potential hydrogen-natural gas blending

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has agreed to explore the possibility of blending hydrogen with natural gas in Thailand.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), MHI will support the country’s aim of moving toward Net Zero emissions by 2065 as set out in Thailand’s Power Development Plan and Hydrogen Promotion Plan.

The agreement was signed at the sixth Japan-Thailand Energy Policy Dialogue (JTEPD), hosted at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Tokyo, Japan.
